My sound art project addresses the everyday by showing two events that occur in my life on a daily basis. The first is shown through the video of my roommate’s dog, Martha, in her pursuit of hunger for her nightly meal at 6 o’clock. Taking care of Martha and seeing her jump for joy when she gets food is a regular routine in my household. 

I captured audio from the belay device while rock climbing at the boulder rock club. Capturing noise from my surrounding environment at the rock gym, as well as the subtle sounds from my belay device, successfully exemplifies my daily experience at the gym. While video and audio may not be directly related, they both show times of my day that give me joy, and that I look forward to experiencing.

I used an audio recorder to capture my sounds, and a digital Nikon camera to film Martha.
