Everyday is different for everyone but for me, my friendships and family life over takes my everyday. This piece is a video image of an average day of my friends and I being friends. It starts with me brushing my teeth because I never leave the house without doing it. I can’t even remember one time I haven’t brushed my teeth before I left anywhere. Then it goes into my everyday routine when playing games with friends. We laugh, dance, throw things at each other and even sing in the car. It’s unique because we all have different backgrounds we come from and they are three males and I’m the only female in the group.

Some say that’s weird but I call it an awesome friendship. Theses there guys are my best friends and brothers. The way the camera work is placed is highly intentional. I wanted it to look like a home video. I wanted to show how I always have someone taking pictures of our days out or recording each other do the average “stupid” things. The sound part of my piece is supposed to represent the film major I’m in and how experimental films play a huge role in my film making and life overall. I took about four different conversations from various times from being with my friends to being at home with my family and I created an echoed distorted version to represent the way it’s constantly playing in my head.

Whenever I hang out with friends I go home and replay conversations all over again. Same goes when I’m with my family and I’m told something one day that upsets me, I’ll keep repeating the conversations over and over, and all I hear is a distorted echo near the end of my thinking. I wanted people to hear my everyday sounds of hanging out with friends to making funny inside jokes with my sister.
